A “Giclee”, pronounced “G-clay” is a noun derived from the French verb “Gicler”, which means “to spray”.
An original piece of art work is photographed then scanned or imported as a digital file onto a computer and then printed using a high-end ink jet printer onto either paper or canvas.
Because the giclee process uses an incredibly accurate computer-controlled jet to apply the link to either paper or canvas, it produces a high degree of detail, closely matching the original.
As a final step, the artist will then meet with the production specialist to oversee the final color correction.
